realistically modelled and engraved to simulate a Russian peasant's wooden cottage (izba) and applied with stylised window frames and a doorway, the pitched roof forming the lid with a locking device at center,assayed throughout with the '84' silver standard, base stamped with the makers mark of A.K., Moscow townmark, assayers mark of A.C. with date of 1893 and 84 silver standardweight 837 grams

two gold ferrules each set 18 rose cut diamonds and a classic scroll ornament surmounting the green nephrite blade, marked '56' zolotnik denoting 14 carat gold and with an indistinct Cyrillic maker's stamp

probably made for a Russian client by Georg Adam Scheid, c.1880
finely enamelled in a combination of deep blue and white pearl over a fruiting vine and laurel leaf pattern guilloche ground, the lid applied with a central Russian Imperial double-eagle ornament framed by a circular band set with old mine cut diamonds
and further embellished with 3 cast gold leaf sprays, stamped on the interior 'G.A.S.' for Georg Adam Scheid and an Austrian assay mark with the letter 'A' for 950 silver purity
